Somewhere: For Us (Issue 16)

Welcome to our Autumn 2024 issue!Our “Passing the Joy” cover art was created by illustrator Lizzy Doe. The symbolic throwing of the bouquet, depicting the passing of joy from one queer couple to another. Yes, we’re officially all loved up for our Autumn issue this year, to mark ten years since the passing of the Marriage and Civil Partnership (Scotland) Act, enabling equal marriage in Scotland. As well as toasting happy couples across the land, and hearing from humanist celebrant Ali Kerr, we also spend time with LGBTQ+ activist Peter Tatchell to find out his views on all things matrimonial. We also celebrate LGBTQ+ publishing, and how publications like ours have played a vital role in community visibility over the years, and we hang out with Gemma Rolls-Bentley whose wonderful Queer Art book is already on everyone’s Christmas list. We also discuss actors playing it queer on our screens, and we spend time with artist and author Juano Diaz. With lots on the latest LGBTQ+ telly, film and music, Issue Sixteen of your favourite award-winning magazine is fit to burst, so wrap up with us as the nights draw in!
