Morvern Graham - Printmaking & Folklore
A printmaking masterclass with artist & storyteller Morvern Graham

We're delighted to welcome local printmaker, illustrator, and storyteller Morvern Graham to the bookshop as part of our Porty Masterclass Series as she dives into her printmaking practice and looking to folklore and mythology as inspiration.
Over the course of two hours, Morvern will teach you the method of collagraph printing using Tetra-Pak, and participants will create a selection of bookmarks using this technique. Collagraph printing is a very versatile method of printmaking so artists of all skill levels are encouraged to join!
Join us over a cup of coffee or tea as you learn more about this specific printmaking technique! You'll receive a complimentary notebook and pencil to jot down notes or sketch ideas.
About Morvern Graham
Morvern Graham is a Scottish illustrator, printmaker and teller of stories. Her work seeks to bring the joy of visual and aural storytelling into our busy modern-day lives, by championing the use of purposeful, traditional crafts. Morvern’s work is often interwoven with themes of nature, heritage and folklore, and explores the wild childhood wisdom and creativity we often loose in our adult years.

Wheelchair Access
We have a ramp at the front of the shop which has a ratio of 1:10 and loading capacity of 300kg, and so should be able to be used by most wheelchair users or those with mobility vehicles. The front doors are fully automated. Our shop interior is designed to allow access throughout for wheelchair users and prams, though please note there is only 700mm wide clearance to access the staff toilet.
Sound
We use a PA system to enhance the audio at our live events. We also have a hearing loop system installed, if you’d like to use our loop system during an event please let us know and we’ll make sure we have it set up and connected to the live audio feed during the event. If you wish to attend an event and require BSL interpretation, please give us a few weeks notice and we’ll do our best to arrange an interpreter.
