BBC Radio 4’s Bookclub with Denise Mina

In a change to the BBC Radio 4's Bookclub event, crime writer Denise Mina will now be joining James Naughtie and an audience to discuss her award-winning true crime novel, The Long Drop.
Set in the backstreets and bars of nineteen fifties Glasgow, and at the trial at which he conducted his own defence, The Long Drop tells the story of Peter Manuel, Scotland’s most notorious serial killer, and those whose lives he ruined.
Each month, Radio 4’s Bookclub, presented by James Naughtie, focusses on one writer and one book. Readers ask the questions and set the agenda. Please come along ready to take part. To help plan the programme, we’ll be in touch with ticket holders to gather questions and thoughts about The Long Drop in advance.
This event will be recorded and edited before broadcast on BBC Radio 4 on 3rd and 7th September. It will also be available on BBC Sounds.
Please note that due to unforeseen circumstances, Jenni Fagan will no longer be appearing at this event for the planned discussion of Luckenbooth.
Following a family bereavement and other unexpected circumstances, Jenni Fagan is postponing all book events for the time being. On behalf of Jenni, her publishers and Radio 4 we apologise for any disappointment.
Please note: Tickets for our events are non-refundable. Professional photography and videography may take place during this event. Thank you for your understanding.
