Yuan Yang Author

Yuan Yang (b. 1990) was born in Sichuan, China where she lived with her grandparents for four years before relocating to Yorkshire with her parents. She grew up in the UK and returned to China as an adult, working as a correspondent for the Financial Times; after the mass expulsion of journalists from China in 2020, she was one of the few journalists writing in English left. She is now the FT’sfirst Europe-China Correspondent, based in London. Private Revolutions is her first book and stems from years of work documenting the lives of four modern Chinese women, recording thousands of hours of interviews to tell their remarkable stories.
