Yifan Shang Author

Yifan Shang obtained her LL.B from Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (China), and her LL.M. from the University of Passau (Germany), where she polished her German and became capable of handling the literature of Latin and French for her dissertation. Instructed by her supervisor, legal historian Prof. Ulrike Müßig, Yifan’s work benefits hugely from the research methods and academic accumulation of her doctoral supervisor. She has the status of Important Partner with DAAD Beijing. As a Young German-Chinese Jurists’ Association (Junge DCJV) member, Yifan delivered the opening presentation of their Research Forum “Chinese Law” in 2021. In the same year, her thesis was accepted by the yearly conference of the China Institute of Legal History (CILH). As the president of the Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSA) in Passau, she organized both academic and other activities, cooperating with organizations across Germany and the globe.
