Professor Mohiuddin Ahmad received his BS degree with Honors Grade in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) from Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET), Bangladesh, and his MS degree in Electronics and Information Science (EIS), major Biomedical Engineering (BME) from Kyoto Institute of Technology of Japan in 1994 and 2001, respectively. He received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) from Korea University, Republic of Korea, in 2008. From November 1994 to August 1995, he served as Part-Time Lecturer in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at CUET, Bangladesh. From August 1995 to October 1998, he served as Lecturer in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET), Bangladesh. In June 2001, he joined the same Department as Assistant Professor. In May 2009, he joined the same department as Associate Professor, and now he is Full Professor. Moreover, Dr. Ahmad had been serving as Head of the Department of Biomedical Engineering from October 2009 to September 2012. Professor Ahmad served as Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering from September 2012 to August 2014. From July 2014, Prof. Ahmad has been serving as Sub-Project Manager (SPM) of the UGC, HEQEP, Sub-Project, CP#3472, titled on Postgraduate Research in BME. Professor Ahmad had served as Dean of Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering from August 14, 2018, to August 13, 2020. Currently, Prof. Ahmad has been serving as Director of the Institute of Information and Communication Technology (IICT), KUET. His research interests include biomedical signal and image processing for disease analysis, computer vision and pattern recognition, human motion analysis, circuits and systems, ICT in health care, and energy conversion. Professor Ahmad is Life Fellow of IEB, Member of IEEE, and Senior Member of the International Association of Computer Science and Information Technology. He had acted as General Chair, TPC Chair, and Co-Chair of international conferences, such as EICT 2015, EICT2017, and EICT 2019. Moreover, Prof. Ahmad supervised a good number of doctoral and master's theses. He has published more than 160 research papers in international journals and conference proceedings. Prof. Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmad is Founder President of “Clinical Engineering Association – Bangladesh (CEAB)”—a non-political, non-profit medical equipment-based patient care social organization where Dr. Ahmad oversees the policies and strategic directions of CEAB as a whole.

 

Professor Mohammad Shorif Uddin completed his Doctor of Engineering (Ph.D.) at Kyoto Institute of Technology in 2002, Japan, Master of Technology Education at Shiga University, Japan, in 1999, Bachelor of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 1991, and also Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Jahangirnagar University in 2013. He began his teaching career as Lecturer in 1991 at Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET). In 1992, he joined the Computer Science and Engineering Department of Jahangirnagar University, and at present, he is Professor of this department. Besides, he is Teacher-in-Charge of the ICT Cell of Jahangirnagar University. He served as Chairman of the Computer Science and Engineering Department of Jahangirnagar University from June 2014 to June 2017 and as Adviser of ULAB from September 2009 to October 2020. He undertook postdoctoral research at Bioinformatics Institute, Singapore, Toyota Technological Institute, Japan, and Kyoto Institute of Technology, Japan, Chiba University, Japan, Bonn University, Germany, Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China. His research is motivated by applications in the fields of artificial intelligence, imaging informatics, and computer vision. He holds two patents for his scientific inventions and has published more than 170 research papers in international journals and conference proceedings. He had delivered a remarkable number of keynotes and invited talks and also acted as General Chair or TPC Chair or Co-Chair of many international conferences, such as IJCACI 2021, IJCACI 2020, ICAEM 2019, ICIMSAT 2019, IJCCI 2019, IJCCI 2018, and IWCI 2016. He received the Best Paper Award in the International Conference on Informatics, Electronics & Vision (ICIEV2013), Dhaka, Bangladesh, and the Best Presenter Award from the International Conference on Computer Vision and Graphics (ICCVG 2004), Warsaw, Poland.  He was Coach of Jahangirnagar University ACM ICPC World Finals Teams in 2015 and 2017 and supervised a good number of doctoral and master's theses. He is currently President of Bangladesh Computer Society (BCS), Fellow of IEB and BCS, Senior Member of IEEE, and Associate Editor of IEEE Access.

 

Yeong Min Jang received the B.E. and M.E. degrees in electronics engineering from Kyungpook National University, South Korea, in 1985 and 1987, respectively, and the doctoral degree in computer science from the University of Massachusetts, USA, in 1999. From 1987 to 2000, he was with the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI), South Korea. Since 2002, he has been with the School of Electrical Engineering, Kookmin University, Seoul, South Korea,where was the Director of the Ubiquitous IT Convergence Center from 2005 to 2010. He has been the Director of the Internet of Energy Research Center, Kookmin University, since 2018, and the Director of the AI Mobility Research Institute, Kookmin University, since 2021. His research interests include the Internet of Energy, the IoT platform, AI platform, eHealth, optical wireless communications, optical camera communication, AI mobility, 5G/6G mobile communications, and the Internet of Things. Dr. Jang is also a fellow of the Korean Institute of Communications and Information Sciences (KICS). He had served as an Executive Director for KICS from 2006 to 2014. He was the President of KICS in 2019. He received the Young Scientist Award from the Korean Government from 2003 to 2006. He was a recipient of the Dr. Irwin Jacobs Award in 2018. He had also served as the Founding Chair for the KICS Technical Committee on Communication Networks in 2007 and 2008. He was/has been the Steering Chair of theMulti-Screen Service Forum from 2011 to 2019, the Society Safety System Forum from 2015 to 2021, and the ESG Convergence Forum since 2022.He has also served as the Chairman for the IEEE 802.15 Optical Camera Communications Study Group in 2014, and the IEEE 802.15.7m Optical Wireless Communications Task Group from 2015 to 2019 and successfully published IEEE 802.15.7-2018 and ISO 22738:2020 standard. He has been the Chairman of IEEE 802.15.7a Higher Rate and Longer Range OCC TG, since 2020. He has organized several conferences, such as the International Conference on Ubiquitous and Future Networks from 2009 to 2017, the International Conference on ICT Convergence from 2010 to 2016, the International Conference on Information Networking in 2015, and the International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Information and Communication, since 2019.  He is also the Editor-in-Chief of ICT Express (indexed by SCIE).
