William Kinread Author

William Kinread attended Sedbergh School and was one of fifty prize winners in a national writing competition run by Barclays Bank. The main prize was a European Tour but William's writing was also reviewed by Philip Ziegler who was editor in chief at Collins at the time.

Philip Ziegler commented that William, "Has an obvious talent for writing..." But life, family and a career in law took over and storytelling was put on the back burner.

William qualified as a solicitor and for the last 35 years has not had much free time to devote to writing. Four years ago, however, he stepped down as a partner of a Harrogate law firm and joined the family business as a director and legal counsel. Although full-time, it has given William more opportunity to turn to writing - hence the novels 'Luger' and 'Escapement'.

William lives in North Yorkshire with his wife, son and two dogs. He still runs and enjoys many outdoor pursuits.
