Will Blackburn never meant to write a book about Ukraine. For many years he was happy selling software and living in London. The only outstanding drama in his life had been a tour of Iraq with the Territorial Army in 2003/4. A family crisis in 2015 precipitated a move to Poland. In February of 2022 Will and his wife found themselves living right on the border of a massive European war. He knew he could not just stand by and be happy selling software. It was time to do something. Once Will saw for himself the utter destruction and suffering of Ukraine and its people, he realised that he had to document what he was seeing. Those notes became the book about his journeys into Ukraine. Will is now fully involved in sourcing equipment in support of Ukraine and the convoys run by Fundacja Igora Tracza.
