Wilfried van der Will is Honorary Professor of Modern German Studies in the Department of Modern Languages at the University of Birmingham. He has published books and essays on German literature and society post-1945, on the worker-culture movement of the Weimar Republic, on culture in the Third Reich, on protest and democracy from the 1960s to the 1980s and on the reception of Nietzsche. R. Hinton Thomas (1912–1983) was a Germanist, member of the University of Warwick, and the author of Nietzsche in German Politics and Society, 1890-1918.
