Wenping Cao received the B.Eng. in electrical engineering from Beijing Jiaotong University, Beijing, China, in 1991, and Ph.D. degree in electrical machines and drives from the University of Nottingham, Nottingham, in 2004.

Prof. Cao is Chair Professor of Electrical Engineering with Anhui University, Hefei City, China. He received a “Royal Society Wolfson Research Merit Award” in 2016, the “Dragon’s Den Competition Award” from Queen’s University Belfast in 2014, the “Innovator of the Year Award” from Newcastle University, UK, in 2013. He has published over 280 articles with H-index=66. He has secured research funding of around £10m from the UK, EU and industry. He is SM of IEEE, IET Fellow, Royal Society Wolfson Fellow and Marie Curie Fellow. He has been Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, IEEE Transactions on Industry Application, IET Power Electronics, and editor for several international journals. His research interests include fault analysis and condition monitoring of electrical machines and power electronics.

Cungang Hu received the B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering and Automation from Electronic Engineering Institute, China, in 2001, the M.S. degree in Detection technique and automatic device form Hefei University of Technology, China, in 2004, and the Ph.D. degree in Power Electronics and Electric Drives from Hefei University of Technology, China, in 2008. From 2004 to 2013, he was with the Hefei University of Technology, China. Since 2013, he has been a Professor of Anhui University, China. And he serves as research fellow in National Engineering Laboratory of Energy-saving Motor and Control Technique, China, Power Quality Engineering Research Center of China Ministry of Education, and Hefei Energy-saving Research Institute. His research interests include multi-level converter technology, new energy power generation technology, power quality and micro grid. Dr. Hu is the Technical Program Committee Chairman of the 11th and 14th IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications, the General Chairman 12th IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications, the Special Session Chairman 46th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics.

Xiangping Chen graduated from SWAN Centre for renewable energy, Newcastle University in 2013. She received several outstanding scholarships from the EPSRC UK, UCCL, China University Committee of London, UK, and Henry Lester Trust. She worked at European Energy Centre (EBRI) between 2017-2018, Aston University and BRE Energy Centre, Cardiff University between 2018-2019. During her employment in the UK, she chaired 1 scientific research project and participated 2 UK EPSRC projects, and 2 EU Horizon 2020 projects. She has chaired one National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) project, one Ministry of Education (MoE) project, three provincial scientific research projects supported by the local government, and four other industrial projects. She has completed five enterprise-university joint projects which received good feedback for outstanding outcomes. In 2020, she received a research awarded entitled "Top Talent of Science and Technology in Guizhou Province". In recent years, she has published 3 high-level English academic books and more than 90 academic articles, 43 papers as the first or correspondence author, including 32 SCI / EI papers.

She is currently a Professor at Guizhou University. Her research interests include renewable system modeling, energy storage control, electric vehicles and smart grids.
