Alan Cobley is Professor of South African and Comparative History and Pro Vice Chancellor and Chair of the Board for Undergraduate Studies, at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill, Barbados. Simpson is Senior Lecturer in Spanish Literature, Department of Language, Linguistics and Literature, and Deputy Dean, Faculty of Humanities and Education, at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill, Barbados.
