Vanessa Bergeron Translator & Author

Authentic, transparent and strongly defining herself through her sensory hypersensitivity, Vanessa Bergeron fully embraces the uniqueness of her life path. After getting her degree in English Studies, she worked as a Pre-Kindergarten teacher, then dove head first into the wonderful world of non-profit organizations. She spent six years facilitating workshops in schools to prevent violence against children, a year and a half supporting young women living with disabilities and now works as a counselor and prevention agent in a sexual assault help centre. Also a singer and an author, Vanessa loves having more than one string to her bow and using those strings to achieve balance. Having found her own perfect little cocoon in the Eastern Townships area, surrounded with trees and animals, she firmly believes that connecting with oneself, with nature and with others are the keys to fulfilment. Snowflakes for Christmas is her first picture book. After her first Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts with a specialization in design from Concordia, and a second one in graphic design from UQÀM, Amélie decided to combine her acquired skills in illustration and pursue her passion professionally. Today, as an independent illustrator and art director, her illustrations can be found on fabrics, in books, games, and much more. Through her illustrations, she aims to create wonder in people. She blossoms in the world of children's literature through various projects that captivate the hearts of both young and old.
