Ulrich Wölfel Author

Ulrich Wölfel holds a Dr. rer. nat. in Computer Science from the University of Lübeck and a Dr. Phil. in Anthropology of the Americas from the University of Bonn. Starting in 2007 he has conducted ethnographic fieldwork in the Chuj and Popti' regions, in the north-western highlands of Guatemala (department of Huehuetenango). In that same region he established in 2013 the ongoing Proyecto Arqueológico de la Región de Chaculá (PARCHA). He has taught computational archaeology at the University of Bonn, where he currently is a fellow of the project ‘Text Database and Dictionary of Classic Mayan’ at the Department of Anthropology of the Americas.
