Dr. U. Kamachi Mudali, Vice Chancellor of VIT Bhopal University, is formerly the Distinguished Scientist of Department of Atomic Energy, and Chief Executive & Chairman of Heavy Water Board, a flagship industrial unit of DAE. As an accomplished team leader, Dr. Mudali has made pioneering contributions to the production of heavy water and specialty materials; advanced materials & coating technology development; corrosion science, engineering and technology; materials, process and equipment development for reprocessing applications; failure analysis, consultancy and societal contributions. Dr. Mudali has 465 journal publications, 5 patents, and 9250 citations with a h-index of 43 and i-10 index of 250. He is recognized in the World’s Top 2% scientists from India in the field of Materials, and is a Fellow of 12 professional associations. Dr. Mudali is decorated with several distinguished recognitions from India and abroad including: Distinguished Alumnus Award from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay where he did M.Tech. in 1984, and PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore where he did M.Sc. (Material Science) in 1982, GD Birla Gold Medal and Metallurgists of the Year Award from IIM & GoI, Homi Bhabha Science and Technology Award of Department of Atomic Energy, Fellow & Frank Newman Speller Award of NACE International, USA, among others.

 

Dr. Toleti Subba Rao is a Senior Scientist at Water & Steam Chemistry Division, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre. India. He graduated from Osmania University, Hyderabad and pursued his Ph.D. from Centre for Biotechnology, Anna University. Recently, he completed his D.Sc. degree from Periyar University, India. The focus of his research is microbial biofilms, biofouling, microbial corrosion, cooling water treatment, environmental impact assessment and bioremediation. He has won several awards and is a Fellow of Academy of Sciences and Applied Biotechnology Society of India.  

 

Dr. Sublime Ningshen joined IGCAR in 1996. His current research interests include nuclear corrosion, passivity and localized corrosion, hydrogen embrittlement, and advanced ceramic coating and materials for nuclear and associated reprocessing plant applications. He is the recipient of DAE Scientific and Technical Excellence Award – 2018, JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship (2011-13), Hokkaido University, Japan, Visiting Scientist (1999-2000), IFW Dresden, Germany, Excellence in Corrosion Science & Technology Awards 2017, NACE India, Mascot National Award–2009, etc.

 

Dr. Radhakrishna G. Pillai is an associate professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras. He earned BE (civil) degree from M N Regional Engg. College, Allahabad and earned M.S. and Ph.D. in civil engineering from Texas A&M University, USA. Since 2010, he has been teaching at IIT Madras. His areas of interest are corrosion and its control, construction materials, concrete technology, repair, and service life of concrete structures. With more than 50 journal papers and involvement in BIS standards, he contributes to solve challenges faced by the industry. He is also active in ICI, NACE, and RILEM.

 

Dr. Rani P. George is Head, Surface Modification & Characterization section, in Corrosion Science and Technology Division, Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research, India. She is involved in the development of corrosion and biofouling control methods, corrosion resistant coatings for seawater and humid coastal atmospheric applications. With more than 150 international journal papers, she with her team is working on developing better cleaning technologies for steam generator and corrosion control technologies for service water and cooling water systems of Fast Breeder Reactors. She is a fellow of NACE International and IIM.

 

Dr. T. M. Sridhar is assistant professor and head in the Department of Analytical Chemistry, University of Madras, India. He pursued his Bachelor’s degree in Gurunanak College, Chennai, completed his Master's and doctoral degree in the Department of Analytical Chemistry at the University of Madras, honored with Best Ph.D Thesis award 2001-02 by NACE International (USA), India Section. His major research areas are biomedical engineering – bioceramics,dental materials, coatings, corrosion, surface modification. He was also awarded with the prestigious U.S. Department of State (DOS) sponsored International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) USA. He received N M SAMPAT Award 2014 from the Electrochemical Society of India, IISc Campus.
