Ifiok Otung is a chartered engineer and professor of satellite communications at the University of South Wales (USW), UK. He earned a PhD in Satellite Communications from the University of Surrey, UK in 1995. His areas of expertise include mobile and satellite communication systems and radio wave propagation. He has supervised many PhDs and contributed to numerous publications in technical journals and international conference proceedings. Professor Otung is also the author of several major textbooks including Communication Engineering Principles (Wiley, 2020) and Digital Communications Principles and Systems (IET, 2014). He is a member of the IET and AIAA. Thomas Butash is the founder (2011) and principal of Innovative Aerospace Information Systems (IS), a company providing consulting services on state-of-the-art aerospace IS with a focus on communications satellite systems design. Previously, Dr. Butash was a technical director and engineering fellow at BAE Systems (formerly Lockheed Martin, Loral and IBM) Space Systems & Electronics, with more than 30 years' experience in communications satellite systems development. Dr. Butash is an AIAA Fellow. Tetsushi Ikegami is a professor of telecommunication in the Department of Electronics and Bioinformatics, Meiji University, Kawasaki, Japan. Before his professorship, he led ETS-V, ETS-VI, COMETS Mobile and Ka and mm-waveband satellite experimental teams at the Kashima Space Research Center of the Communications Research Laboratory (CRL, now NICT). He has served as Technical Program and General Chairs of several international conferences, including IWUWBS2005, ISCIT2012, ISSSTA2012, ISMICT2013, ISMICT2020, etc. He is an IEICE fellow and a member of IEEE.
