Dr. Surya Nandan Meena is currently a postdoctoral research scientist at Department of Chemistry, Savitribai Phule Pune University, India. Presently he is a DSKPDF Awardee from the University Grants Commission, Government of India (UGC), GOI. Earlier Dr. Meena has secured the National Postdoctoral Fellowship through DST, GOI and served the National Institute of Oceanography Goa as a Postdoctoral research fellow for two years. Dr. Meena has secured Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), and Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) from the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) GOI and pursued his Ph.D. in Biotechnology from the Department of Biotechnology, Goa University, India. He has pursued his MSc (Agri) Plant Biotechnology from University of Agriculture Sciences Dharwad, India and BSc (Agri) Hons from the Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology Udaipur, India. Dr. Meena has more than 5 years of research experience in natural products Chemistry resulted in more than 7 peer reviewed research papers in international journals and 2 book chapters. He has good insight and analytical mind in natural product chemistry, expertise in drug screening, biochemical, and cell-based assay development, which has resulted in the full characterization of an anticancer and a novel antidiabetic compound. Till now, Dr. Meena has attended more than 6 national and international conferences, 5 workshops/training programs. He has received the best poster and best research paper appreciation award during the national conference. Recently Dr. Meena has served as a chief editor of a book titled “Advances in Biological Science Research-A Practical Approach published in Academic Press-Elsevier, consisting more than 60 authors (professors, scientists, postdoc fellows) from three different countries (UK, UAE, India). Dr. Meena regularly serving duty of a reviewer for several international peer-reviewed journals such as Chemosphere, Environmental pollution etc. and till now successfully reviewed several research articles/ review papers. Milind Naik has a PhD in Microbiology and is presently working as Assistant Professor in Department of Microbiology at Goa University on the UGC- sponsored Microbiology (M.Sc.) innovative programme-Teaching and Research in Interdisciplinary and emerging areas. His research interests are applied microbiology, Environmental Microbiology, Marine Microbiology, Microbial genetics, Nanobiotechnology, Quorum sensing.
