Philippa Maddern is professor in medieval history at the University of Western Australia and Director of the ARC Centre of Excellence for the History of Emotions. She is the author of Violence and the Social Order: East Anglia 1422-1442 (1992) and has published articles on families, households and children in late-medieval England. Stephanie Tarbin is a lecturer in history at the University of Western Australia. She co-edited the collection Women, Identities and Communities in Early Modern Europe (2008) and has published articles on moral regulation, households and children.
