Sol Tax Editor

Sol Tax (1907-1995) was Professor Emeritus of Anthropology at the University of Chicago. He was widely known as the founder of the journal Current Anthropology and for his work with Native Americans, particularly the Fox and Sauk Indians. Max Gluckman (1911-1975) was head of the department of social anthropology and sociology at the University of Manchester. He is well known for his many books and articles on the peoples of South and Central Africa and on social anthropology in general.
