Sister Wendy Beckett Author

Sister Wendy Beckett was a member of a teaching order of nuns. She read English at St Anne's College, Oxford, where she was awarded a Congratulatory First and later taught in South Africa. She returned to England in 1970 to become a contemplative nun, and since then has led a disciplined life in which the careful study and contemplation of art have played a part. Well known for her successful television series on the history of art, Sister Wendy's recent books include Joy Lasts:On the Spiritual in Art and On Prayer.
