Sílvia Gómez is an Associate Professor at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Spain. She is a social anthropologist whose research focuses on marine science from a transdisciplinary approach.

Vera Köpsel is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Institute for Marine Ecosystem and Fisheries Science at the University of Hamburg, Germany. Whilst her background is in human geography, she now focuses her work on marine social science and exchange with non-academic actors.
