Dr. Arun Kumar Mishra, Ph.D. is serving as a Professor, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India. He has 28 years of teaching and research experience. He has specialization in cyanobacterial systematics, physiology, stress signalling, genetics and proteomics. His research area comprised of deciphering the fundamental metabolisms of cyanobacteria . Additionally, he has also successfully deciphered the mechanism of organophosphate bioremediation by Fischerella sp. LMGA1. Furthermore, he has successfully accomplished research projects sponsored by eminent research agencies like Department of Biotechnology, Department of Science and Technology, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, University Grant Commission and Indian Council of Agricultural Research, Government of India. Besides, he has edited a book on cyanobacteria entitled: Cyanobacteria: From Basic Sciences to Applications, published by Elsevier in the year 2019 Dr. Satya Shila Singh (Ph.D.) is serving as a professor in the Department of Botany, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India. She is actively engaged in UG and PG teaching and possesses 11 and 26 years of teaching and research experiences, respectively. Her area of expertise mainly includes the isolation and characterization of different diazotrophic cyanobacterial strains from various unexplored regions of Chhattisgarh, by using polyphasic approach. Dr. Singh has also studied the responses of diazotrophic cyanobacterial strains to toxic pollutants like heavy metals, pesticide and surfactants. At present, her research are focused on the study of thermophilic cyanobacterial diversity from Indian hot springs and understanding their metabolic behavior, bioremediation prospects, ability to synthesize industrially and pharmaceutically valuable compounds. She has already discovered many novel cyanobacterial species. In addition, she has edited number of books published by national and international publishing house
