Roger Conaway Author

Roger Conaway (PhD Bowling Green University; MA Stephen F Austin State University) is a professor of business at the Techologico de Monterrey (ITESM), campus San Luis Potosi, where he teaches courses in areas of international business, international negotiations, marketing communication, and entrepreneurship. He has previously taught for 20 years at The University of Texas at Tyler in the areas of organizational communication and business communication, including business ethics in the MBA program. He received the distinguished Pirtle Professorship and was the recipient of the Alpha Chi Outstanding Faculty Award. He co-chaired with Oliver Laasch the 77th international annual convention of the Association of Business Communication sustainability conference held in Hawaii in October 2012. Dr. Conaway has also served as the president of the international Association for Business Communication from 2005 to 2009. His primary research interests include sustainability and business communication. He is the co-author of RESULTS-ORIENTED INTERVIEWING: PRINCIPLES, PRACTICES, PROCEDURES (1999) and COMMUNICATING GLOBALLY: INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATION AND INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS (2007) and COMMUNICATION IN RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS: STRATEGIES, CONCEPTS AND CASES, NEW YORK: BUSINESS EXPERT PRESS. Oliver Laasch is founder of the Center for Responsible Management Education and a Marie Curie Research Fellow at the University of Manchester. He was previously Director of the Centre for Responsibility and Sustainability (CRSE), Tecnológico de Monterrey (ITESM). He has been a lecturer in topics related to responsible management at Tecnológico de Monterrey, Steinbeis University Berlin, and Seoul National University. Laasch is editor of the United Nations Principles of Responsible Management (PRME) Collection for Business Expert Press (BEP). He is co-leader of the United Nations PRME Working Group on Executive Education, co-editor of the guide Implementing PRME in Executive Education," and lead author of the first PRME textbook to be published. Laasch has contributed to landmark publications in responsible business, such as the "A-Z of Corporate Social Responsibility," and has published in mainstream responsible management in scientific journals such as BUSINESS COMMUNICATIONS QUARTERLY. As a trainer, coach, and consultant in responsible business, Laasch has collaborated with more than 100 academic institutions and businesses from small entrepreneurs to multinational corporations. His broad teaching experiences in responsible business include full courses in corporate social responsibility, sustainable development, environmental economics, ethics management, social and cause-related marketing and communication, sustainable innovation, social entrepreneurship, strategic CSR, and international CSR initiatives and standards."
