Robynn J. Stilwell is Lecturer in Music at the University of Southampton. Her research centres on music as a cultural text, and includes work on popular music, musical theatre, film, and dance. She has published articles on music and intertextuality in popular music and in film; on sound design and exoticism in The X-Files; and on figure skating. She is currently at work on the book Recontextualizing Music: The Use of Pre-Existing Music in Film.
Bill Marshall is Reader in the School of Modern Languages at the University of Southampton. He is the author of books on Victor Serge and Guy Hocquenghem, of a forthcoming work on Quebec national cinema, and of articles on aspects of French audio-visual culture.
