Robert Sewell (1845-1925) was an Indian civil servant and a historian. He was posted in Madras Presidency and was a Keeper of the Madras Record Office. He was involved in the documentation of ancient inscriptions and also participated in the archaeological project at Amravati, which was surveyed previously by Colin Mackenzie and Walter Elliot.
