Fernando Wypych graduated in Chemistry – Federal University of Paraná (1984), Ms.Sc. – Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (1987); PhD - Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro/Technical University of Berlin - Germany (1992) and pos-doc in the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology - ETH (1997). Currently is full professor at the Federal University of Paraná and work in the area of natural and synthetic layered materials. In 2019 was included in the PLOS Biology database among the 100,000 most cited researchers in the world in all areas of science.
