Dr. Aydin Azizi holds a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering. Certified as an Official Instructor for the Siemens Mechatronic Certification Program (SMSCP), he currently serves as a Senior Lecturer at the Oxford Brookes University. His current research focuses on investigating and developing novel techniques to model, control, and optimize complex systems. Dr. Azizi’s areas of expertise include control and automation, artificial intelligence, and simulation techniques. Dr. Azizi is the recipient of the National Research Award of Oman for his AI-focused research, DELL EMC’s “Envision the Future” competition award in IoT for “Automated Irrigation System”, and ‘Exceptional Talent’ recognition by the British Royal Academy of Engineering.

Dr. Reza Vatankhah Barenji obtained his Ph.D.  in mechanical engineering, and currently serves as a Senior Lecturer in the engineering department at Nottingham Trent University. Before joining NTU, he was an Associate Professor with the Industrial Engineering Department at Hacettepe University, Ankara, Turkey. He was the founder and director of the Smart Engineering and Health research group where he conducted research projects in the field of SME digitalization, Industrial Automation, cloud manufacturing, and Pharma 4.0 for Manufacturing and health, with substantial government and industrial grants. His research interests include AI Applications in manufacturing, Industry4.0, Pharma4.0, Artificial intelligence applications in healthcare, blockchain applications, smart medical production, continuous medicine production, Cyber physical-based PAT, cloud-based RTRT, and Drug development life cycle integration. He has extensive experience in process optimization (e.g., FSW, FSP, EDM) using response surface methodology, and distributed manufacturing control systems. He is an active consultant for bio-mechatronic and Industry 4.0 projects in the pharmaceutical and automotive industries. Dr.Reza received the 2020 First-Class  Tubitak research award of Turkey in the interdisciplinary research branch for his research conducted in the past five years, and for introducing the “Pharma 4.0” context. In 2021, Reza was endorsed as “Global Talent” by the British Royal Academy of Engineering.
