Raymond F. Betts was one of the University of Kentucky's most respected faculty members across three decades and a champion of innovative programs for UK's best undergraduates.He was a popular history professor who specialized in French colonialism of the 19th and 20th centuries, Mr. Betts was the founding director of UK's Gaines Center for the Humanities from 1983 to 1998.
