Dr. Prashant Mhase (1972) is presently serving as an Assistant Professor, Department of Veterinary Microbiology, Krantisinh Nana Patil College of Veterinary Science, Shirwal, Dist. Satara, Maharashtra, India. He obtained his B. V. Sc. & A.H. degree in 1995 and M. V. Sc. in 1997 from Nagpur Veterinary College of Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola and Ph. D. in Veterinary Microbiology in 2012 from Bombay Veterinary College of Maharashtra Animal And Fishery Sciences University, Nagpur, Maharashtra. He started his career in SAU as Junior Research Assistant in 1998, worked as Veterinary Officer from 2003 to 2008 and working as Assistant professor since 2008 till date, in MAFSU. His field of specialization is Bacteriology, Immunology and Nanotechnology. He has published 25 research papers in National and International journals of repute. He published abstracts and lead papers in several compendiums of conferences and worked as editor of scientific Journals. He has participated in many National and international Seminars, trainings and workshop symposiums and presented papers. He has written notes and prepared educational materials and practical manuals for undergraduate and postgraduate. He has guided 08 postgraduate students as major advisor and guided more than 25 students as their advisory committee member. Dr. Prashant has also written 25 popular and technical articles in Agrowon, Shetkari and other reputed magazines and periodicals and delivered more than 20 radio talks. He had also won few awards for poster presentations at national and international conferences and being a organising member for more than 15 short term trainings, 05 national conferences and few workshops for academic staff, students, field veterinarians and farmers. He has been awarded as a COVID warrior in 2021 and Lumpy Disease Warrior in 2023 for exemplary services to mankind and Animals.
