Philippa Lilford lives in Bristol with her husband and daughter, Alba. She works as a psychiatrist in Bristol and has an interest in global mental health having previously worked as a psychiatrist in Malawi. She hopes to return to Africa to work during her career. She wrote this book during her maternity leave and her mother, Vicky, illustrated it after they walked past many of the scenes included. 'The Colour Thief of Bristol' is her first non-fiction book and she plans to write a sequel soon. Vicky Lilford lives in Birmingham with her husband. She is a retired GP who worked in a University Medical Practice for 25 years and previously for some years in Bradford. She was born into a family of architects going back 4 generations. Her grandparents' and her parents' hobby was water colour painting which has inspired the pictures in this book. This is the first book that she has illustrated having rekindled an interest in painting since her retirement. She has an interest in children's books as she has 5 (soon to be 6) grandchildren.
