Prof. Pavel Nesterenko holds a position of Leading Researcher in the Laboratory of Adsorption and Gas Chromatography at the Department of Chemistry M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University. Received MSc (1979) in petroleum chemistry and organic catalysis, PhD (1984) and DSc degrees (2000) in analytical chemistry from M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University (Moscow, Russia). Senior Researcher (1988), Leading Researcher (2001) and Professor of Analytical Chemistry (2003). In 2006-2018 was awarded Quantum Leap Professor and New Star Professor positions at Australian Centre for Research on Separation Science (ACROSS) and worked at the University of Tasmania, Hobart, Australia. Author of more than 380 scientific publications including 4 books, 14 Chapters in books, 350 regular papers and 13 patents. Research interests are associated with development and investigation of new advanced materials with focus on their selectivity and efficiency for various separation and detection technologies. Professor Colin Poole is internationally known in the field of thin-layer chromatography and is an editor of the Journal of Chromatography and former editor of the Journal of Planar Chromatography – Modern TLC. He has authored several books on chromatography, recent examples being The Essence of Chromatography published by Elsevier (2003), and Gas Chromatography published by Elsevier (2012). He is the author of approximately 400 research articles, many of which deal with thin-layer chromatography, and is co-chair of the biennial “International Symposium on High-Performance Thin-Layer Chromatography. Professor Yan Sun received Doctor of Engineering Degree in the University of Tokyo in 1990. He started his teaching and research career in Tianjin University (TJU) in 1991 and became a full Professor in 1993. He is now a Chair Professor of TJU. In 2000, he was appointed to the Cheung Kong Professorship by the Ministry of Education (MOE) of China. In 2011, he received the Young Asian Biochemical Engineers’ Community Award from the Asian Federation of Biotechnology, and during 2002 to 2012 he received three academic research awards on bioseparations in China. His research interests include bioseparations and biocatalysis. He is an Editor of the Journal Chromatography A, an Associate Editor of Biochemical Engineering Journal, and an Associate Editor of Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering. His work has produced over 400 research papers published in peer-reviewed international journals and one book (Bioseparations Engineering, in Chinese).
