Patricia L. Crown is a Distinguished Professor of anthropology at the University of New Mexico, USA. An award-winning archaeologist, she was elected to the National Academy of Sciences in 2014. She is the author, editor, or coeditor of five previous books, most notably Ceramics and Ideology: Salado Polychrome Pottery.
