Paolo Borruso is professor of contemporary history at the Catholic University of Milan. A scholar of contemporary Africa, he has dealt with Italian and European colonialism, Catholic missions, Ethiopia in the twentieth century, and the processes of independence and crisis in postcolonial Africa.
