P J Parsons was born in London in 1932 and was evacuated to Oxford during the Second World War. His National Service was completed with the RAF. The author is well-travelled and has lived and worked in Germany and the Far East. His post retirement employment has ranged from university lecturer through to bus driver, his longest continual employment having been twelve years with East and West Sussex Social Services and the WRVS meals on wheels service. He is long term separated from his wife, with three daughters and four grandchildren.
