Nobuo Niimura took his PhD from the University of Tokyo in 1970. He has since worked in the Physics Division, Tohoku University, and the Japan Atomic Energy Research Institute. He is currenlty Professor at the Frontier Research Center for Applied Atomic Sciences, Ibaraki University. He has received a number of awards for hiw work: Tsukuba Science Award (1996), Nikkei BP Award (1998), Award of Radiation of Applied Physics Society of Japan (1998), Award of Ministry of Science & Technology Agency (1999), Award of Neutron Science Society of Japan (2003) Alberto Podjarny began his research career at La Plata University in Argentina. he has spent time as a Visiting Associate Professor, and Research Associate at the Departments of Biophysics and Theoretical Biology, and Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Chicago. He is currently Director of Research for CNRS, France.
