N. M. Nurazzi is a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Centre for Defence Foundation Studies, at the National Defence University of Malaysia. His research interests include materials engineering, polymer composites and their characterization, natural fiber composites, and carbon nanotubes for chemical sensor applications. He obtained his Diploma in Polymer Technology in 2009, his Bachelor of Science (BSc.) in Polymer Technology in 2011, and Master of Science (MSc.) in 2014, all from the Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). In 2018, he was awarded his PhD from the Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) in Materials Engineering. R.A. Ilyas is an Assistant Professor at the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. He received his Diploma in Forestry at the Universiti Putra Malaysia, Bintulu Campus (UPMKB), Sarawak, Malaysia and was then awarded the Public Service Department (JPA) scholarship to pursue his bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Chemical Engineering at the Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). Upon completing his BSc. he undertook a PhD in the field of Biocomposite Technology & Design at the Institute of Tropical Forestry and Forest Products (INTROP) UPM. Dr. Ilyas was been the recipient of numerous awards including the MVP Doctor of Philosophy Gold Medal Award {UPM] for Best PhD Thesis [2019] and the Top Student Award by INTROP, UPM. In 2018, he was awarded an Outstanding reviewer award by Elsevier for Carbohydrate Polymers. He has also received several best Paper Awards (11th AUN/SEED-Net Regional Conference on Energy Engineering Philippines), (Seminar Enau Kebangsaan 2019, Persatuan Pembangunan dan Industri Enau Malaysia), and the National Book Award in 2018. S.M.Sapuanis a researcher and an A Grade Professor of Composite Materials in Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), and the Head of the Laboratory ofBiocompositeTechnology, INTROP, UPM. He has a BEng in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Newcastle, Australia, an MSc in Engineering Design from Loughborough University, United Kingdom, and a PhD in Material Engineering from De Montfort University, United Kingdom. He is a professional engineer and a fellow of the Society of Automotive Engineers, the Academy of Sciences Malaysia, the Plastics & Rubber Institute Malaysia, the Malaysian Scientific Association, the International Biographical Association, and the Institute of Materials, Malaysia. He is an honorary member and was the Vice-President of the Asian Polymer Association based in IIT Delhi, and the founding chairman and honorary member of the Society of Sugar Palm Development and Industry, Malaysia. He is the coeditor-in-chief of 'Functional Composites and Structures', and a member of the editorial boards of more than two dozen journals.To date, he has authored or coauthored more than 1,800 publications, includingover815 journal papers, 46 books, and 160 chapters in book and other publications. Furthermore, hehas delivered over 40 plenary and keynote lectures and over 150 invited lectures, organized 26 journal special issues as a guest editor, presented over 500 technical articles in conferences and seminars, reviewed over 1,000 journal papers, and has 8 patents to his credit.He has successfully supervised 86 PhD students, 70 MSc students, and 15 postdoctoral researchers,mainly in the areas of mechanical engineering and composites.He received nine Outstanding Researcher Awards from UPM. He was awarded an ISESCO Science Award (Gold Medal) in Technology, a Plastic and Rubber Institute Malaysia (PRIM) Fellowship Award, and a Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) First Prize Publication Award. He also received a KhwarizimiInternational Award, a SEARCA Regional Professorial Chair Award, and a Kuala Lumpur Royal Rotary Gold Medal Research Award. Later,he received a Professor of Eminence Award from Aligarh Muslim University, India, a Top Research Scientists’ Malaysia Award from the Academy of Science Malaysia,Gold in Invention and Innovation Awards, Malaysia Technology Expo, anda PERINTIS Publication Award from PERINTIS, Malaysia.He was listed among theworld’s top 2% scientists by Stanford University. A. Khalina is a Professor in the Faculty of Engineering at the Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). She earned her B.Eng degree in Agricultural Engineering in 1996 and Doctor of Philosophy in Biocomposite Technology from UPM in 2006. She was officially appointed as lecturer in 2006 and promoted to Associate Professor in 2010. She was then appointed as Head of the Biomaterial Processing Laboratory in 2007, and Head of the Biocomposite Technology Laboratory in 2010. In April 2017, Dr. Khalina was later appointed as Deputy Dean of Research & Innovation in the Faculty of Engineering, and then became Director of the Institute of Tropical Forestry and Forest Products (INTROP) in May 2020. To date, she has authored more than 170 articles in citation-indexed journals. She has also authored or co-authored more than 22 chapters in books and 81 conference papers.
