Elie M. Ferneini, MD, DMD, MHS, MBA, FACS, is a practicing oral and maxillofacial surgeon in Cheshire, Connecticut, USA and an assistant clinical professor at the University of Connecticut, with responsibilities for both undergraduate and graduate training. He is also the medical director of Beau Visage Medical Spa.  Dr. Ferneini is a graduate of Southern Connecticut State University (BS, magna cum laude), Quinnipiac University (MHS, MBA), and University of Connecticut Medical and Dental Schools (DMD, MD). He completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at the University of Connecticut and then undertook 2 years of general surgery training at the same institution. Dr. Ferneini has a long history of conducting research, resulting in a number of scientific publications. He has lectured nationally and internationally. His professional interests span hospital-based and office-based maxillofacial surgical procedures, including reconstructive facial surgery, maxillofacial pathology, and cosmetic facial surgery.  Dr. Ferneini is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.  He is on the editorial boards of the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the Journal of Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery.  He is currently the editor in chief of the American Journal of Cosmetic Surgery, the official publication of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.

Charles L. Castiglione, MD, MBA, FACS, is Chief of the Section of Plastic Surgery, Department of Surgery, Hartford Hospital and Chief of the Department of Plastic Surgery, Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. He is an Associate Clinical Professor of Surgery at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, and an Associate Clinical Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Castiglione became a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons in 1992. He has held numerous non-hospital or university appointments. He served as President of the New England Society of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery from 2013 to 2014 and President of the Connecticut Society of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery from 2005 to 2007. Dr. Castiglione has been a member of the editorial board of Connecticut Medicine: The Journal of the Connecticut State Medical Society since 2004 and is an invited editor for Craniomaxillofacial Trauma & Reconstruction and The American Journal of Cosmetic Surgery. In 2014 he received the Physician of the Year award from Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. He is the author of more than 20 articles in peer-reviewed journals.

Mohammad Banki, MD, DMD, FACS is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon practicing the full scope of maxillofacial and cosmetic surgeries in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Dr. Banki completed his dental and medical education followed by his surgical training all at the University of Connecticut. He then attended a fellowship fully dedicated to the cosmetic surgery of face and body in Oklahoma City. He is currently an attending surgeon at Miriam and Rhode Island Hospitals, both in Providence, RI, as well as the Sturdy Memorial Hospital and the Southern New England Surgery Center in Attleboro, MA. Dr. Banki is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (AAOMS) and the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery (ABCS) and serves an examiner for the ABCS (Oral Certify exam). Dr. Banki is the National Chairman of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery Committee on Membership, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a Fellow of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. He is also a clinical faculty at the Department of Surgery at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, as well as the Department of Craniofacial Sciences in Division of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Connecticut. Dr. Banki has received a number of honors and awards, including from the Pierre Fauchard Academy and the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons. He has lectured extensively on the topic of complications in maxillofacial cosmetic surgery.
