Mohamed-Amine Choukou (PhD) is Assistant Professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy, College of Rehabilitation Sciences, University of Manitoba and Adjunct Professor in the Biomedical Engineering Graduate Program. He is Research Affiliate in Riverview Health Centre and the Centre on Aging. Dr. Choukou is also an Associate Researcher in the Quebec Rehabilitation Research Network. He is the founder of the Rehabilitation Technologies Lab of The University of Manitoba where he leads government- and government-private funded research focusing on finding technology-enabled interventions to help older adults live independently with dignity, thereby reducing caregiver burden and improving healthcare allocation and service provision. Dr. Choukou is the author of dozens peer-reviewed articles and proceedings and 7 book chapters, and he presented his research work in more than 50 conferences around the world. Shabbir Syed-Abdul MD., PhD: an associate professor at Institute of Biomedical Informatics, Taipei Medical University. He is a leading researcher and a principal investigator at the International Center for Health Information Technology, Taipei, Taiwan. Dr. Shabbir has 15 years experience of research in the domain of Long-term care with Wearable technologies, mHealth, Big data analysis and visualisation, Artificial Intelligence, Personal Health Records, Social Network in healthcare and Hospital Information System. He wants to empower care providers and improve patient participation and engagement. Dr. Shabbir is an editor of the book ‘Participatory Health Through Social Media’ published by Elsevier in 2016. Also, Dr. Shabbir is guest editor for the Journal Sensors since March 2018.
