Prof. Dr. Miroslav MateevA Vice President for Research and Advancement at the American University in the Emirates.  His research area includes corporate finance, company valuation, investment and portfolio management, global financial markets, mergers and acquisitions, bank performance and risk taking. Dr Mateev holds two doctoral degrees – PhD in Industrial Management and Doctor of Economic Sciences in Finance, from the University of National and World Economy, Sofia. Prof. Mateev interest for teaching was conceived 20 years ago during his MSc. Degree study in International Finance at London Business School in the UK. He also specialized at Harvard Business School where he focused on case writing and case teaching as part of his teaching methodology. Dr Mateev has published five textbooks and more than 100 papers in the areas of corporate finance and risk management, emerging economies, foreign direct investment M&A, bank regulation and ownership. Prior to working at AUE, Dr Mateev taught at the American University in Bulgaria and the University of Maine Business School.  Dr. Mateev is actively engaged in public and private sector consulting in the areas of foreign investment, corporate restructuring, project management and SME development.
Assoc.Prof. Jennifer Nightingale
An Associate Professor of Information Systems and the Assessment Coordinator at Slippery Rock University (SRU), Slippery Rock, PA USA.  Her research areas include ethical and societal issues regarding the use of technology, instructional technology and using technology as a teaching tool within business courses, enterprise resource planning, and the impact of instructional technologies on student learning. Dr. Nightingale has published over 30 journal and conference articles and her work has appeared in Journal of Business, Economics and Technology, Journal of Integrated Enterprise Systems, International Journal of Education Research, and Business and Society Review. Additionally, she has co-authored eight textbooks on Microsoft Access and Excel.  Dr. Nightingale has spent 20 years teaching in higher education. Prior to teaching at SRU, she taught at Duquesne University School of Business. Before entering academia and higher education, she spent 15 years in industry with a focus in management, marketing, sales, and training for companies such as Enterprise Rent-a-car and The Limited Corporation. Dr. Nightingale is actively involved in community outreach as well as helping students obtain the CAPM certification.
