Michael S. Wogalter, Ph.D., CPE

Mike Wogalter is a Professor Emeritus of Psychology at North Carolina State University (Raleigh), having "retired" in 2013 after being a full-time faculty member there for over 20 years. Previously, he held full-time faculty positions at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (Troy, NY) and the University of Richmond. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Human Factors/Engineering Psychology from Rice University, a master’s degree in Experimental Psychology from the University of South Florida, and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Virginia. He is a Fellow of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society and the International Ergonomics Society. His interests have been mostly in the areas cognitive ergonomics, hazard communication, human-technology systems interaction, and forensic human factors. He has authored more than 370 publications, including books, journal articles, chapters, and conference proceeding articles. Mike has participated in hundreds of cases as an expert witness involving analyses of human perception, cognition, and warnings over the past three decades. He now mostly resides in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
