Sean Brady is Lecturer in Modern British and Irish History at Birkbeck College, University of London, UK. His publications include Masculinity and Male Homosexuality in Britain, 1861–1913 (2005, 2009), What is Masculinity? Historical Dynamics from Antiquity to the Contemporary World, co-edited with John H. Arnold (2011), and John Addington Symonds (1840-1893) and Homosexuality: A Critical Edition of Sources (2012). Mark Seymour is Associate Professor in the Department of History and Art History, University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand. He is the author of Debating Divorce in Italy: Marriage and the Making of Modern Italians (2006) and numerous articles.
