Marcus Thompson II is a sports columnist for the Mercury News and the East Bay Times, the flagship publications of Bay Area News Group. Before expanding to reporting on the NFL, MLB, and other Bay Area sports, he covered the Golden State Warriors exclusively as beat writer for ten seasons. Thompson is a graduate of Clark Atlanta University. He lives with his wife, Dawn, and daughter, Sharon, in their hometown of Oakland, California.
