Manuela Simoni, MD, PhD, is Full Professor of Endocrinology and Deputy Director, Department of Biomedical, Metabolic and Neural Sciences, University of Modena & Reggio Emilia, Italy. She is also Director of the Unit of Endocrinology, Azienda USL of Modena, Italy and Director of the School of Specialization in Endocrinology and Metabolism, University of Modena & Reggio Emilia. She was previously University Professor of Endocrinology and Molecular Biology of Reproduction at the University of Münster, Germany. Dr. Simoni is current Secretary of the European Society of Endocrinology and from 2010 to 2014 was a member of the Executive Council of the Italian Society of Andrology and Medical Sexology. She is a past Associate Editor of Human Reproduction and past Senior Editor of the Journal of Molecular Endocrinology, and she is a current editorial board member of the European Journal of Endocrinology and Molecular & Cellular Endocrinology.

He has been Chief Editor of Molecular and Cellular Endocrinology since 1999 and is also past Editor of various other leading journals. He is a past president of the International Society of Andrology and has been a member of the WHO Special Programme of Research, Development and Research Training in Human Reproduction since 1987. He is the lead or co-author of approximately 650 peer-reviewed papers and has an H-index of 70.
