Akira Otsuki is a Professor of Facultad de Ingeniería y Ciencias, Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez, Chile, a guest professor in non-destructive characterization and selective material recovery at Lulea University of Technology, Sweden, and a guest researcher at Neutron Beam Technology Team, RIKEN Center for Advanced Photonics, RIKEN, Japan. He is a member of several academic societies, including The Japan Society of Vacuum and Surface Science and Electrokinetic Society of Japan. He has been acting journal editor and organized special issues of journals relevant to non-destructive testing and characterization. His research is specialized in the area of characterization and processing of complex materials, including colloids, waste materials, and natural ores. Seiko Jose PhD is a scientist, working at ICAR-Central Sheep and Wool Research Institute, Avikanagar, Rajasthan, India. He has over 17 years’ experience in textiles including time spent in industry and academia. His industrial experience is focused on wet processing of cotton, silk, and linen processing units. For the last 8 eight years of his research career, he has worked with a range of natural fibres such as, wool, jute, pineapple leaf fibre, coir, flax, and ramie. He has contributed to 30 research papers and 9 book chapters. His major research areas are extraction and characterization of natural fibre, textile dyeing and finishing, eco-friendly textile processing, natural fibre composites, and natural dyes. Dr. Manasa Mohan A, was born in 1989 in Thiruvanathapuram, Kerala. She graduated in 2010 from University of Kerala, completing post-graduation with first rank from the Department of Chemistry, and also received a gold medal in chemistry from the University of Kerala. She completed her PhD in polymer-based drug delivery systems in 2018. She is now working as a Kothari postdoctoral fellow in Mahathma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala. Dr Manasa’s bibliography contains over 5 international scientific papers, 1 national scientific paper, 10 paper presentation, 1 book and 151 citations. Prof. Sabu Thomas is a renowned professor who is serving as the Vice-Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala, India. He is also a full professor of Polymer Science and Engineering at the School of Chemical Sciences, a role which he has held since 1998. He was previously Pro-Vice Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi University 2017-2018, Director of School of Chemical Science during 2010-2013, Hon. Director of International & Inter-University Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology 2009-2015 and 2016-17. In 2015, Prof. Thomas received his first Docteur Honoris Causa from University of Souther Brittany in Lorient, France. In 2016, he received his second Doctorate honoris causa from University of Lorraine, France. He was awarded the Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, London, FRSC in 2012. He received the Bronze Medal of the Chemical Research Society of India and the MRSI Medal of the Material Research Society of India in 2013. He was the recipient of Fulbright-Nehru International Education Administrators Award 2017. He also received TRiLA Academician of the year 2018 award. Prof. Thomas has published more than 1000 publications, and more than 100 books.
