Lubomir Longauer was born in 1948 in Banska Bystrica. In 1963 - 1967 he studied at the Secondary School of Applied Arts in Bratislava. In 1967 - 1969 Longauer taught at the Art Department of the People's Art School in Topolcany. In 1966 he became Co-founder and member of Group 29. In 1969 - 1975 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava. In 1975 - 1990 he worked as a freelancer. In 1990 - 2003 he taught at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava. From 1999 - 2002 he headed the newly created Department of Graphic Design. In 2004 - 2011 he taught at the Faculty of Education at Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra. Longauer has mainly worked for Slovak publishing houses, cultural institutions, galleries and theatres and designed hundreds of book covers, posters, branding, bulletins, etc.
