Lisa Y. Adams, PhD, MSc, RN, is Course Instructor, Athabasca University, Alberta, Canada; MacEwan University, Alberta, Canada; and Memorial University, Newfoundland, Canada. She also works as a Mental Health and Addictions Consultant, Department of Health and Community Services, Government of Newfoundland and Labrador. Dr. Adams' research and academic interests are mental health nursing for seniors, corrections/forensics, and addictions and criminology, and she is currently doing a post-doctorate bridging mental illness and corrections. She has completed and/or published several peer-reviewed research studies and articles. Dr. Adams is chapter President of The Canadian Gerontological Nurse's Association and is a Volunteer Peer Reviewer for Aging and Mental Health, Health and Social Care in the Community, and Healthcare Management Forum. She is also an editorial board member for the Healthcare Management Forum.
