Robert Graves Robert von Ranke Graves (1895 - 1985) was the greatest English Lyric poet of the twentieth century. He was also a major novelist, essayist, translator and memoirist. Laura Riding (1901 - 1991) is one of the most influential and misread writers of the twentieth century. Her collaborations, notably with Robert Graves and Schuyler B.
