Kenita-Lee McCartney Author

Kenita-Lee McCartney is a proud Wemba Wemba, Wiradjuri, Wotjiboluk, Boon Wurrung and Neri Neri woman, and the founder of Matakupaat Arts. She was born on Wurundjeri country to her Aboriginal parents, and now lives on Wemba Wemba country raising her two pembengguk (children).

Creating has always been Kenita-Lee's way to express emotions, experiences, storytelling, healing and self-care. She strives to keep alive her peoples' traditions and ensure that her pembengguk grow up strong within their identity and culture, surrounded by art, culture and community. Kenita-Lee's designs are bright and colourful with strong cultural messages, and her creations often come to her in her dreams.
