Kathryn Hamlin-Pacheco Author

Kathryn Hamlin-Pacheco, M.S., OTR/L, is the founder of The Brain Executive Program and a pediatric occupational therapist who started her professional career as an elementary and middle school teacher. She has combined her teaching background, including experience in developing curriculum and delivering content in a manner that maximizes learning, with her work as a therapist, involving in-depth understanding of developmental disorders, to develop this program aimed at bringing neuroscience into pediatric therapy. After teaching for six years and working with children with learning delays, Kathryn transitioned into occupational therapy in 2015, and has specialized in treating sensory processing disorders, executive functioning disorders, and autism spectrum disorders. She has worked with the Virginia Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities program to pursue her desire to be an advocate and leader in the field of pediatric healthcare, and with Johns Hopkins All Children’s Early Intervention program in Pinellas County Florida to bring understanding of sensory processing to families and interventionists. In addition, she has practiced in a sensory specialty clinic, and now owns her own private practice in which she focuses on educating clients and caregivers in a manner that empowers children to live their best lives. Kathryn has a passion for sharing the complexities of neuroscience with fellow clinicians, pediatric clients, and families, spreading knowledge to improve outcomes. In addition to her work as a teacher and therapist, Kathryn is an avid equestrian. She was a member of the Texas A&M 2002/2003 NCAA National Champion Equestrian Team, and has since shared her love of the sport through coaching in a variety of venues. Kathryn has presented across the country to educate riders on biomechanical techniques and on bringing mental health principles into riding. She has conducted clinics and seminars at venues such as Horse World Expo, the University of Florida, mounted police departments, and multiple privately owned barns. In addition, she has contributed to the University of Kentucky’s Saddle Up Safely program.

Kathryn enjoys life with her husband, Justin, and their daughter, Mackenzie, wherever the military sends them.
