Kate Whiteman has been a food writer and editor for almost 30 years. She has translated and edited numerous books for such eminent chefs as the Roux brothers, Raymond Blanc and Pierre Koffman, and is herself the author of The Italian Ingredients Cookbook and The World Encyclopedia of Fruit. Richard Bird has contributed to numerous publications and has been magazine editor for Focus on Plants, The Hardy Plant, Alpine Gardening and the Alpine Garden Society's magazine, Bulletin.
