Karen Jeynes - Whether in the form of novels, short stories, or plays, Karen Jeynes' work is a testament to her unwavering commitment to the craft of writing. Some of her most famous plays include multi award-winning Everybody Else (is F*cking Perfect) (Best Comedy 2005), Kiss Kiss, I’ll Have What She’s Having, and Laying Blame (translated into 7 languages), as well as Vaslav, nominated for 3 Fleur du Cap Awards. She served as head writer for 90 Plein Street, as well as writing for shows like Thabang Thabong, Vaya Mzansi, Moferefere Lenyalong and Supastrikas. She worked with Kyknet as a mentor on their Grapkas project, is a juror for the International Emmys’ Peter Ustinov Award, and is an evaluator for the KZN Film Commission and the NFVF. Drawing inspiration from a rich tapestry of experiences and cultures, Malan weaves intricate narratives that explore the human condition in all its facets. While taking degrees in Arts and Education at UCT, he trained in the Speech and Drama Department. Since then, he has worked in English teaching and theatre-in-education all his life. Robin Malan is an editor of South African textbook anthologies and a well-renowned author and actor in theatre. In 1974 Malan became the artistic director of PACT Playwork theatre-in-education company. He created a symbiotic unity of theatre and education by making Theatre in Education (TIE) the basis of their work. Robin Malan has made prolific contributions to the publishing and theatre industry and continues to do so every day!
